Foxx Trotter's Cavern:  Danger Zone
This section contains various photos of dangerous and thrilling proportions.  Included here are severe weather, natural disasters, extreme sports, thrill rides and other items of such stature.  More pictures will be added over time.  I am currently requesting some photos for submittal.  Please see the Photo & Art Submittals section for more information regarding what I'm looking for.  Pictures will be posted with the oldest first due to how the captions are made up.  I will post a link for recent photos when the number of images surpasses this page.  Click on any picture to enlarge.

A severe ice storm hit the Central North Carolina area in December 2002.  Although the look of ice covered trees may look pretty from afar, it brings a destructive force...being the added weight of frozen water on suspended areas.  The result is numerous downed branches, power lines and uprooted trees causing blocked roadways as shown here.  Both photos were shot in Franklinton.  Many people were without power for weeks.

Click to Enlarge One would think that the warning lights and signs would inform overheight vehicles not to pass under this tunnel.  Unfortunately, that's not the case.  Nicknamed the "Guillotine," the bridge at Gregson and Peabody Streets in Durham, North Carolina has been the location of numerous accidents involving overheight trucks being crunched in the underpass.  For some smashing videos, please visit www.11foot8.com.
